Pica Floor Lamp

Description

PICA is a floor lamp designed by Josep Novell and Josep Puig, which has a heavy steel structure inspired by the wrought-iron technique and a wide cotton lampshade adjustable in height.

PICA owes its name to the Spanish ancient defensive spear used to contain cavalry charges. PICA brings us, then, reminiscences of a distant past so many times represented in Art. Starting from this historical concept, the floor lamp modernizes the idea of the ‘iron forge’ and combines the image of this ancient technique with the own style of its two designers. PICA focusses on functionality and style, its remarkably timeless design and the soft light that it produces filtered by the shade. The shade can go up and down along the mast by means of a simple retention system, thus adapting to the needs of every moment. The PICA’s shape and appearance adapts perfectly to current lighting requirements. It is ideal for the living room, as a reading base next to an armchair or sofa, in a home, hotel facility, reception of a medical or cultural center, or in classic, minimalist and contemporary interior designs where an elegant luminaire with a great presence is required.
