Ronan Bouroullec.

Ronan Bouroullec is a French designer born in Quimper, Brittany, in 1971. At the age of 17, he enrolled at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Appliqués et des Métiers d’Art. The following year, he made his debut at the Salon du Meuble in Paris. In 1998, his brother Erwan joined him in Paris, and in 1999, they established a small studio. That same year, Ronan received the New Designer Award at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York.

Together, the Bouroullec brothers have collaborated with renowned brands such as Vitra, resulting in numerous partnerships with international design companies. Their work encompasses a wide range of expressions, from craftsmanship to mass production, extending beyond furniture design into technology and art. They have created permanent installations in public spaces worldwide and their work is featured in prestigious institutions, including MoMA in New York, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.

Numerous monographs have been published about Bouroullec’s work, and he held his first solo exhibition at the Centre Pompidou in the spring of 2024. Ronan is dedicated to creating practical and flexible designs that are refined while retaining his creative flair and innovative spirit, defining an era in contemporary design.
