backIn 1988, David joined his family’s industrial engineering business in R&D and later, in 1997, launched “dab,” focusing on lighting design and special projects. His aesthetic, shaped by summers in his family’s metal workshop and the vibrant city of Barcelona, blends design and engineering.
In 2004, he began teaching at Eina Design and Art School, and his work has since received numerous awards, including Red Dot and iF Awards. In 2012, he founded “davidabadesign” and collaborated with Blux before focusing on his own creations. In 2016, he launched “DA editions,” specializing in custom lighting solutions.
After facing personal challenges in 2021, David shifted towards consulting and mentoring, helping others overcome adversity. Always seeking new challenges, his philosophy remains: act, feel, create, and believe.
