Description
The architect Josep Torres Clavé designed this armchair in 1934 for the Pavilion of the Spanish Republic at the 1937 International Exhibition in Paris, where it stood alongside masterpieces like Picasso’s Guernica and works by Alexander Calder and Joan Miró.
Featuring an oak frame with a seat and back upholstered in woven string, the armchair combines traditional craftsmanship with timeless elegance. Its refined design makes it a perfect choice for adding sophistication to hotels, reception areas, waiting rooms, libraries, and other special spaces.
