Francesc Rifé

Francesc RiféBarcelona, Spain

Francesc Rifé’s career as an interior and industrial designer began during his time of academic training through various independent collaborations for design studios and architecture, while at the same time, beginning to take on his own commissions. In 1994,
after several years of experience, Francesc founded his own design studio in Barcelona. It is currently led by a team of several professionals from different fields of design. His projects, both nationally and internationally, range fromindustrial design to interior design, both to commercial and private. His
design philosophy is based on spatial order and geometrical proportions. During
his career he has won several design awards such as, Contract World
Awards, ICFF Editors Awards, FAD and several ASCER awards, and was also a
finalist in the National Design Awards and the Delta Awards, among others. His
projects have been reported both nationally and internationally in various
reference books (Daab, Braun, Taschen ...). Other publications such as On
Diseño, Proyecto contract, Diseño interior, La Vanguardia, El Pais, WallPaper,
Bob Magazine, AIT, Metropolis, Intramuros, AD, Frame... have similarly published
books containing a collection of his most outstanding works. During the last
ten years he had been combining his work with teaching at the Elisava School in
Barcelona, a collaboration that he had to abandon due to its incompatibility
with his work in the studio. Currently, he actively participates in congresses
and conferences throughout the Spanish territory and abroad (Singapore,
Hannover, Cologne, Tokyo, Miami, Opote, Moscow, Bogota).
